Random photos from the last few days...

Things from Thailand that will be missed....

....That any phase of the moon is an excuse to party! (buckets of fun), my catamaran, interesting markets--and of course the night markets, famous Thai chilis, & sunsets hanging out on the beach... especially with great people!...To anybody reading this that I met traveling, thank you (Kap Kun Kaaah!) for all the fun adventures!!! It was great hanging out and meeting you & hope to see you again soon.

More Thai highlights

Here are a few more shots of my last days in the land of smiles!!...I am back in Sevilla, I left during the millitary coup, but was out having the last Mai Thais right in the middle of Bangkok when it happened... and it was very calm. Thailand seems to be a very tranquilo country and people still there say that the ¨Mai Pan Rei¨(No worries/Pura vida) attitude still prevails, which is great. I hope everything works out well with the transition for this amazing & beautiful country! Besitos desde Sevilla!!--M.A.
PS-- I will keep posting pictures on this site even though I´m no longer traveling

Pictures:

Dutch travel buds¨Goosie¨and Audrey (but where´s Manos?), buenas vistas & sunset handstands, cats for sale!, shark fins for sale!, Sawatde-kah with Ronald (we didn´t eat here-- no way, the Thai food is too good!--but couldn´t pass up a photo shoot)

Some Thai highlights!

Since my trip is winding down, I'm going to put up highlights of all of Thailand from friends' cameras. Here are a few from Michelle's camera, and I'll but up more when I'm back in Sevilla--I have to enjoy the last few hours in paradise before leaving, so ciao guapetones!!
#1-vista de playita #2 gecko photo shoot #3 mini jungle temple #4 que rico!! that was the grasshopper, I think. Yum #5 beach cafe

Fifi's pics #2

We stayed a night with this hill tribe in a little bamboo house on stilts...these kids performed bed time songs for us, too cute!

Fifi's pics #1

Fifi ended up being the official photographer of our trekking group in the hills of northern Thailand. Here are her pics of the jungle, elephant trek, visit to hill tribe, playing and singing with kids, rice paddies, bamboo rafting etc... Merci beacoup Fifi!!
PS--Our driver--in the middle of nowhere--took a call on his cell while steering us on the elephant... Traditional transportation but pretty high tech for a village with no electricity!

Bamboo forest, amazing waterfall and a drowned camera

These are the last pics from my camera since after climbing up this beautiful waterfall my camera took a swim! There is also one picture of me and Audry conquering the Chiang Mai night market...Luckily friends have been nice enough to make me c.d.'s of their pics, so I will still be able to put up more shots later. XXXOOO from here!

Stop over in Bangkok (same same but different)

On my way up to Chiang Mai (soooo hard to leave the beach but I finally did...) I had 4 hours in Bangkok, just long enough to get a massage and visit the Grand Palace, where we had to borrow very attractive sleeved shirts and skirts to cover our western clothes. It turned out to be a special day at the palace because the king of Thailand was also there....For some reason he didn't want to hang out with us??!!
PS-Check out the temple guard pose made world famous by Michelle!

My debut as a rock climber!

These shots are from Rei- Lei beach which is surrounded by huge lime
stone cliffs--that I climbed! Em, my guide, and fellow rock climbers cheered me on and the view from the top was amazing!
